DIVE TRUK LAGOON aboard OdysseyChuuk Lagoon: (formerly Truk Lagoon– they changed the name back to its original name in 1986) is one of the most iconic wreck diving destinations in the world, largely because of its unique and haunting history as the site of a major World War II naval battle. Operation Hailstorm (Feb 17-18, 1944) was a massive US Navy aerial launched on the Japanese fleet in the lagoon. In just 2 days over 60 ships were sunk fully loaded with supplies, tanks, trucks, munitions and aircraft, making them compelling dive sites today. It is truly the “Wreck Diving Capital of the World”Many of the wrecks are considered war graves, with the remains of Japanese sailors still entombed. But the wrecks are also covered in rich marine life with plenty of coral growth and flourishing marine eco systems, perfect for photography. Somewhat remote and rustic compared to other dive spots, its emotional impact, historical depth, and underwater beauty make it unforgettable.The Odyssey, a 132’ air-conditioned live-aboard vessel has nine spacious staterooms, private ensuite facilities, and a large entertainment lounge. All meals and beverages are included and so is the nitrox. With small groups of only 16 guests, you’ll make friends quickly and forever.Enjoy up to 5 dives daily (except arrival and departure day).  Since most of the dive sites in Truk Lagoon are fairly close to each other, it is easy for us to move around. The best part about diving aboard Odyssey is that we don't require everyone to dive at the same time. So it is not unusual for you and your buddy to be the only divers on a 500' wreck. About this trip

United Airlines is the only flight provider to Truk Lagoon (TKK). You can take different routes, but you will need to land in Guam (GUM) first and then continue to Truk.~Depart on Nov 25 or 26 (depends on airline and departure time) to arrive in Truk on Nov 28.~Dec 5 depart Truk (TKK) for your flight home.Palau, Yap &amp; Pohnpei can all be reached from this destination if you are looking for a longer trip. However, you will need to use Guam as your transfer hub.
