About your trip

MAY 19-30, 2026

Halmahera, Indonesia (Aboard the Damai 1): Halmahera is the largest island of the Moluccas, situated in North Maluku Province in Indonesia. Lying at the gateway to the Pacific Ocean between Lembeh Strait and Raja Ampat, Halmahera promises exceptional diving at the heart of the Coral Triangle.

The waters around this sparsely populated island play host to pristine, untouched coral reefs and astounding biodiversity.

From large pelagics such as hammerhead sharks, oceanic whitetip, blacktip reef sharks, and manta rays, all the way down to teeny macro species such as nudibranchs, pygmy seahorses and harlequin shrimp.

In addition to the prolific diversity, Halmahera holds several WWII wrecks that are perfect for exploring. Halmahera is a rarely dove destination, making this a very special destination for the experienced traveler looking for that unique diving experience!

Damai 1: Indonesian built specifically for divers. The vessel has been designed with three large deck areas for relaxing in sun or shade and enjoying rejuvenating massage and spa treatments. Specifically designed for divers, the vessel offers large dive stations with individual rinse tanks, a camera room with separate workstations. There are 2 custom designed high speed tender boats used to transfer guests to and from the dive site safely and comfortably.

Add-On? This trip can be combined with the Lembeh, Indonesia trip (May 30-June 6, 2026)--Booked separately.

DUE TO HIGH CURRENT DIVING—This trip is for Advanced Divers Only!

Some of the dives will be exploratory
